Visual Artists
The 51st Columbus Arts Festival presented by Time Warner Cable will return to the Riverfront June 1, 2 & 3, 2012. Columbus' Scioto Mile and Bicentennial Park will be transformed into a stunning, outdoor art gallery as the nation's top artists display their work and attract art enthusiasts from all over the country.
It wouldn’t be the Columbus Arts Festival without the many talented visual artists and craftspeople who will be showing and selling their work the entire weekend.
In 2011 we proudly featured more than 240 artists who were chosen to participate by a panel of arts experts from more than 1,000 applicants in 15 types of media. The Columbus Arts Festival offers a unique opportunity not only to buy exquisitely crafted, one-of-a-kind works of art, but to actually meet the artist who created it, learn about their skill and technique and to hear firsthand the stories behind the work.
Emerging Artists
The Emerging Artists program, new in 2011, featured 10 central Ohio artists at the Columbus arts Festival. These fine artists are new to the outdoor festival scene and the Columbus Arts Festival works to guide them through the process and experience step-by-step. Seasoned festival exhibitors are also paired with these emerging artists to show them the ropes. The most exciting aspect of this program is that it gives us the opportunity to raise the profile of some of our most talented local artists and give them a boost towards a career in exhibiting their work.
2012 Columbus Arts Festival Visual Artist Application will open October 13, 2011 on www.zapplicaiton.org. We will soon post an Artist Planning Guide that will walk you through important information about the Festival. For more information about the Columbus Arts Festival’s jury policy please view our Festival Prospectus. All artist applicants will be notified by mid-February of the jury results.
